Open Day

We had a great day - we welcomed many new faces to the school and the place looked realy well. Our initial forms indicate that we will be receiving lots of applications for Nursery, as usual, and hopefully a good intake for P1 in September 2011. Well done to all the children who were taking part during the Open Day.

Nursery Rhyme Day

It was one of those surreal moments of school life....
As I showed a visitor round the school, and adult Little Bow Peep ran past us at full speed - complete with shepherd's crook in hand!
What can I say!

Adults can learn to!

Remember that the Northern Regional College will be holding adult computer classes in school every Monday. These two classes are for all abilities and so everyone could come and be taught at your own level. One class starts at 9am and the other starts at 11am. Contact Mrs Carson in the Office for more details. Don't get left behind!!

Back to school

The school looks so well...
All the children are looking great in their new uniforms and the place is clean and tidy. Yesterday while walking round the school I noted the great air of work and enthusiasm which was clear to be seen. Our numbers of children in school is at its highest for quite a long time, so things are looking up!
Here's to a great year ahead!

It has been a great year!!
The children have all worked hard and we have improved our overall results from last year - particularly in maths.
We have a great school and I hope you agree - our parent survey results would certainly agree!
Thanks to all the parents, teaching and non-teaching staff and, of course, the children.
Have a great holiday and see you all on 31 August
Thanks for your support throughout the year.

Leaver's Assembly

We had lovely morning at our Leavers' Assembly. I was really encouraged by the great turn out of parents and friends as we said goodbye to our P7 children and a few Nursery children. The P7 children reminded us about their favourite memories of school and then the P5 - P7 children sang to us. We then had a cup of tea and a few tears were shed as parents looked back with fond memories.
We wish all the children well as they leave us and look forward to new ones joining us in September.

The wicked witch is dead!!

I can't believe that it's all over!
Our final peformance of the "Wizard of Oz" was outstanding and I think I saw Andrew Lloyd Webber in the audience!!
Once again, many congratulations and thanks to the children for all their hard work and they were all stars of the show.
Remember that photographs and a DVD of the performance are available to buy from the school Office.
Memories have been made that will never be forgotten - the joy and privilige of teaching!!

We're off to see the Wizard....

To say I am proud of the school is an understatement!!
Tonight we had the most amazing production of the "Wizard of Oz". The cast, scenery, props, sound, music and the atmosphere proved to be a most memorable night in the history of the school. The audience loved it and many are coming back for another night tomorrow!!
Well done to all the children who performed their hearts out and made memories for us all! Lots of parents were in tears for all the right reasons!!
Congratulations and well done!!

We had a great day yesterday - lots of parents and potential parents came to look round the school - both in the morning and the evening. The PTA had a great spread for refreshments and the atmosphere was relaxed and informative and there was a great buzz around the school. I really enjoyed it and I think others did too??!!
